The story about voting rights for the Samoans in Alaska …. Should be read everyone. Thanks

I feel I'm in front of the Federal Reserve in Washington watching thieves loot it but everyone who passes by, when I say, "can you believe it!?" just shrug and move on. If Trump isn't impeached soon there will be bank runs. That is what has been put in motion.

America really needs to plead the 25th and move on from Orange Julius Caesar.

That wouldn't even get you a shrug. Of course, I'd like to see both ;)

American Samoa has been a US territory longer than Oklahoma, New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and Arizona have been states, but they are not citizens? That the AMERICAN Samoans pay taxes, have US passports, Social Security numbers, and can be drafted into the military, but are not US citizens is the stupidest thing that I have read. Today.

It’s actually partly their decision as mentioned in the article

Other tribes have been able to reserve a degree of sovereignty and cultural autonomy and be full citizens who can vote, though I’m sure there are white supremacists who would eagerly undo that. The Samoans saw the danger of a takeover of their islands, and they have been proven right by what is happening in Alaska now; real estate and tourism dollars are given priority by loser politicians who very likely stand to gain financially; while people who have been our allies, in combat not just on paper, are pushed aside. Guess they didn’t know about Catch-22, since it hadn’t been written yet.

Even if none of this were true I would not accept that my great grandparents were able to consign me to a lower caste 125 years later.

P.S. Remember when the voting age was lowered to 18 because if you could die for this country, you should be able to vote in its election?

As usual, you hit multiple heads on multiple nails.

Sorry about Kittle. Loved the story, though.

“Healthy capitalism requires a sane adherence to the rule of law. That’s a reality that corporate leaders have been conveniently ignoring for a year” and the stock market! I hope they wake up.

Excellent read as always, but when your lead story runs long like this one, can you break it up into at least one further paragraph? It can be difficult to read a really long paragraph, enough so that it might become a tl;dr item for some readers.
