There's a new show called Star City which looks at this space race from the perspective of the Russians. It's very different (a bit more brutal in places, especially episode 1) and a mix of For All Mankind with Tinker ,Tailor, Solider, Spy. Well worth watching (and yes you will be rooting for some of the cosmonauts but less so their bosses).
My thirty-something son won’t eat pork after meeting a pet pig, so the rest of us rarely do. I wonder if this is the long echo of the pot bellied pig craze?
Interesting -- I always thought of sleep-away camp as Constipation Summer.
If you want to know who the 'For All Mankind' cast are based on, I interviewed Ron Moore and found out back in 2019. https://physicstoday.aip.org/opinion/review-for-all-mankind-rewrites-history-with-a-prolonged-space-race Love that show, especially the opening episode of Season 2. Which I go and back watch if I'm depressed.

Yes, we watched Star City first and then got started on the binge.
