Regarding this thing about instant subtitles showing up on your eyeglasses during real life conversations, I say that's all very well and good, but could you first go back and clean up all those old episodes of Perry Mason and Poirot, etc. Their subtitles were obviously done by a computer nerd in a basement in Taiwan. My point, and I do have one, is that people--even on TV--tend to mutter, drop parts of words, run things together, repeat things, and generally force listeners to be simultaneous translators of their own language. I would like to see how well these glasses work, just for the entertainment.

Interesting how a Supreme Court's clarification of a law, essentially saying that "Males are not females" leads Pedro Pascal to call out JK Rowling and others for "...terrorising the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist." Really?! This clarification of law says nothing about trans people's existence, what they can wear, how they present, or what they can or can't do with their bodies. It mere states that for the purposes of equality laws in the U.K. that "males are not females", that's all. This is how the "trans community" lost the support of the majority of "decent" people, this sort of hysterical victimization complex and talk of "trans genocide" doesn't go over well with most people. Trans people have all the rights of anyone else in society, nothing has been taken away. If you're male you don't have a "right" to enter female only spaces or compete in female sports.
