I’ve been using Perplexity for well over a year. I may be a little more tech savvy then most but anyway, I soon noticed the flattery so I asked about it, and AI replied that it was built in, but if I didn’t like it, I could turn it off. I decided I did. It’s Helpful to have positive feedback. But I’m always aware I’m dealing with a machine. A lot of others aren’t or lose that awareness. For me it’s as much about all the lonely people in the The Digital Age as it is the AI.
