"Yes, our heart is broken when children are dying in Gaza." But we're still killing them - in refugee camps, in hospitals... wherever children and families are found, we'll be blocking aid and dropping bombs. I get that your Dad is a holocaust survivor but the blind eye you continue to turn toward the unconscionable acts of the Netanyahu government is truly baffling.

You definitely haven't been reading very carefully. I hate Netanyahu. So does Yair Lapid. That's why I said the interview is worth a read, not that you should agree with every word. Same goes for NextDraft.

I did read it. What I see are statements like this, "Hanging over the negotiations is the increasingly likely prospect of an Israeli military offensive in Rafah, which Israeli officials have signposted for months but are now holding back, saying they want to give space to the negotiations.

But Israeli sources have characterized the latest Egyptian effort to broker a deal as the last chance to avert that offensive."

There is no justification for continuing to make the Palestinian people suffer. They are not Hamas any more than a majority of the citizens of Afghanistan are Taliban. Israel needs to stop blocking aid to Palestine if anyone is to believe they are negotiating in good faith and they need to stop threatening the millions of refugees they have created. it's heartbreaking.

Israel has what is considered to be one of the most sophisticated intelligence organization in the world and yet they blanket bomb the citizenry to get rid of Hamas instead of using precision tactics. It's not justified, it's not right, and it must stop.

Yesterday I read Sally Jenkins's WaPo article, "Riding the baddest bulls made him a legend. Then one broke his neck," and it has stayed with me. Remarkable writing. Thanks for the recommendation.
