They, and we, learned that when one rogue leader from one powerful country unilaterally, without any buy-in from that country’s allies, starts a war that neither the leader’s citizens nor the leaders or citizens of its allies wanted, the aggressor country will soon find itself on the ropes. The West can tolerate discomfort when there’s a good reason. There was no good reason for attacking Iran.
