Regarding gasoline prices, I just got back from a trip to Canada. We should be thankful for our relatively LOW gas prices. The cost in Canada comes out to approximately $5 per gallon. I don't know how much of that is for taxes, but the bottom line is a whole lot higher there than here.

I even found a surprising variation between two adjoining US states: in New York, the price seemed to be in the $3.75/gallon rate. In Pennsylvania, it was closer to $3.30.

I don't know what the prices for gasoline are in Europe are these days, but I suspect they are at least as high as Canada's. We have no reason for complaint in this country. As oil becomes more and more expensive to produce, OPEC's policies notwithstanding, the prices are going to go up everywhere.

"But tucked into the 500-page document known as the Howell Code was another provision..." I wish I were a lawyer in Nevada. What other nuggets are in the Code that would pester the Right? Limits on musket size perhaps?

Oil and gasoline prices are going up because OPEC has been cutting production. There prices started going back at the start of the year, right on que. If you look at the correlation between gasoline prices and the Biden approval rating, you will see an almost perfect negative correlation. We know who Russia and Saudi Arabia would like to see in the Whitehouse.
